Planting Party - Saturday, October 30th 10am-1pm

Please come and join us the day before Halloween to plant all of the new areas we have cleared throughout this last year. No experience necessary, tools and gloves will be provided, everyone is welcome.

We will be providing refreshments and refills of water, so please bring your water bottles. Dress warm in rain/dirt proof gear and we will meet at the Northeast side near the parking lot.

Park Address: 18440 NE 24th Street, Redmond, WA - Directions

Our meeting spot is located on the north side of the park, so if you are driving, you will have to come in through the neighborhood streets (186th Ave from NE 24th ST -- NE 27th from West Lake Sammamish Parkway). Please do not park up along the road on NE 24th Street as there are No Parking signs. There are a few spaces and plenty of street parking near our meeting spot.

We had a great group of volunteers from First Tech Credit Union join us on Sunday, September 19th. While it did pour rain and made the job a bit miserable, these volunteers didn't let it get them down and they did a phenomenal job clearing out ivy and blackberry starts that were overtaking our plantings. Such an amazing group.

This kind of clearing is essential during this time of year as we are gearing up for our planting next month. We are scrambling a bit to get as much cleared as we can to get the new plants to have a healthy and happy environment where they can thrive through the winter.

We would love to work with them again in the future, maybe on a drier day. Thanks again volunteers!

Viewpoint Work Party Scheduled April 24th 9am - 12pm

Come join us April 24th to celebrate a belated Earth Day (the 22nd) and help us fight some invasive blackberry, holly and more.

Make sure to wear long pants and sleeves as these kinds of plants tend to bite back. We are meeting in the same place, the parking lot on the north side of the park and will be clearing some flat areas but mostly a steep hillside. If you don't feel comfortable volunteering for this one, that's fine. We have plenty of easier areas to attack during the rest of the year.

A New Season

We are getting ready to start up our invasive plant removal activities again and will let you know when the next one will take place. Stay tuned!

Honestly, you all exceeded our expectations. It was daunting when we first arrived and saw how many plants need to go in the ground and how much space we needed to cover. But with everyone's help we got done in half the time we expected. We can't wait to see how all of the trees and shrubs we planted end up filling in the areas we cleared.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. And if you couldn't join us this time, email us with your contact info and we will let you know when we start back up in March 2010.
